Please allow me to comment in English on the
above referenced Post by Mr. Esposito whom I
know to be well intentioned and certainly
open minded "citizen of the world" on such a
significant issue.
While I thank Mr. Esposito for making
available the "literature" in question, this
is certainly not a case of audi alteram
partem or as Agostino D'Ipponia used to
say audi alterum partem. No
self-respecting secular Jew or Jewess
anywhere in the world (outside of Israel)
would take Zionism and religious zealotry or
extremism very seriously. Unfortunately, the
Israeli democratic apparatus confuses the
separation of secular and religious views
and many times religious bigots and or
zealots end up in positions of influence in
the Parliament of Israel (Knesset). For this
reason radical policies (including murder
and terrorism) are advocated as question of
State of Israel National and International
Policy.
Keep in mind, however, that the State of
Israel (much like the State of Italy) is
not a free agent. It depends upon and is
subject to the views of worldwide Jewry (the
Diasporal Israel -especially US Jews and UK)
and the worldwide consensus or body of
public opinion is that extremism and
terrorism are not viewed as acceptable. Both
Semitic people, the Islamic Palestinians and
the Jews outside of the immediate area of
conflict in the Middle East, understand that
"eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth" will
soon create a nation of blind and toothless
people. I firmly believe that the instinct
for self-preservation will put an end to
zealotry on both sides. And Christian "zealots"
exist as well. We really need to pray G_d
(Io sono il Colui che e`) to save us from
all extremists and religious zealots/bigots.

Nessuno ebreo o ebrea dovunque nel mondo (fuori
di Israele) prenderebbe molto seriamente il
Sionismo o il fanatismo religioso...

...l’opinione pubblica non accetta quell’estremismo
e quel terrorismo. Sia i Semiti, che gli
Islamici Palestinesi che gli Ebrei fuori
dell'area di conflitto nel Medio Est, devono
capire che la politica dell’occhio per occhio e
dente per dente creerà presto un popolo di
ciechi e di persone sdentate.
Credo fermamente che l'istinto di conservazione
porrà fine agli estremismi eccessivi sui due
lati.
Noi abbiamo reale bisogno di pregare G_d (Io
sono Colui che è) per salvarci da tutti gli
estremismi e dai bigotti.
